Fun in Saskatoon and Other Things

As I was walking to school, someone in a construction vehicle honked at me and waved. I don't know anyone in construction and my hood was obscuring my face, so I can only assume these people randomly honk and wave at people walking down the street.

Anyway. So, my internet is down until Friday, and I have to think of things to do in the interim. So, I have been playing Hearts pretty much nonstop. But there's kind of a funny story attached. I always thought that in Hearts you had to avoid taking any of the cards, so you tried to put down the lowest card in each trick. For some reason, I kept losing and I wasn't sure why. Then I decided to try to lose in the fastest time. Then, I ended up scoring 0 and everyone else got 26 (this is good). I didn't know why! So I looked up the rules. Apparently, you have to avoid getting the hearts and the queen of spades. The upshot of it is, I've been playing Hearts for almost a decade but I've NEVER KNOWN THE RULES. It's like Mau, where you learn as you go along, only it took me 8 YEARS TO LEARN. Btw, I got 0 that one time because I "shot the moon" which means I took all the hearts and the queen of spades.

Callie is so stupid. Mr. Digout was teaching us about tense in English and all of a sudden she's like, "I have bad punctuation!" and there was a pause and he's like, "um...we're learning about tense now." And then he kept talking and she's like, "you're smart!" and I don't think he even paused in his teaching. In CE, we were in groups for this project and Tayler wasn't there so he asked which group wanted Tayler and no one said anything. Derek was like, "dibs, we don't want her! We don't want her!' No one likes her. Even her friends don't like her. She's like Kerri, only slightly more annoying, IF THAT'S EVEN POSSIBLE.

Okay, fun in Saskatoon. I got my grad dress! It's really nice. I got red peep toe shoes and my sister made me two sets of jewelry, one for the commencement and one for the banquet. Anyway, that night Jonas and I went to Cloverfield. It's a pretty good movie, even though it made me nauseous. Jonas had to wait in line for the parking ticket for like fifteen minutes because someone didn't know how to use the machine (I can relate to this. It is very difficult to figure out) and we got in the theatre like fifteen minutes late and we thought we would have to sit in the front row, but there were two seats up top. These were the only pair of seats together in the whole theatre other than at the front. We took the van to the theatre, which was not a good idea, as it wouldn't start. We had to call Uncle Terry to pick us up and leave the van there overnight. We didn't get ticketed, however.

The next day we had brunch at The Palisades with Uncle Terry, Auntie Lauri, Madison, my grandparents, my mom, and Jonas. Uncle Terry kept saying the server was checking me out, and that this was good because he would come back frequently to refill the coffee cups. The night before, we had to get change to buy the parking ticket for overnight so we stopped at a Starbucks and I went to get change and Uncle Terry was like, "did you get change?" and I was like, "yeah" and they started laughing but I wasn't sure why, and Uncle Terry's like, "was it a guy?" and I was like, "yeah," and Uncle Terry was like, "see, if me or Jonas went in, we wouldn't be able to get change!" He kept making comments like that. I wonder what's going to happen when Madison starts dating. That will be so funny.

French is going better, now that Madame Helene knows I'm incompetent. It's actually getting easier to understand what the hell she's saying.

Anyhoo, that's about it for now. Ciao!
