What To Watch During The Strike To Keep From Gouging Your Eyes Out

Or: How To Escape Watching Nonstop American Gladiator.

The OC- Reruns of this great show are on Much right now. I've seen all of season 2 and 3, and most of 1 and 4. If you have some kind of unfounded prejudices against the OC, get rid of them right now and watch this show.

Reaper- The first season is playing over again on City, every Tuesday at 8 (or possibly 9). Sam is a 21 year old slacker whose parents sold his soul to the devil and now has to capture escaped souls. It has received comparisons to Shaun of the Dead and is produced by Kevin Smith. The third episode is on this Tuesday.

Stargate SG-1- The best and longest running sci-fi show ever plays every day at 6 on the sci-fi channel. Think sci fi is all aliens, spaceships, and spandex? Well, that's a huge part of it, but watch Stargate SG-1 for its hijinks and quick wisecracks.

Trailer Park Boys- I bet you thought I would be the last person to watch this show. A Canadian creation, its about the life of three guys living in a trailer park. Once you get past the profanity and get used to the odd brand of humour, its a hugely addicting show. And, come on, who doesn't love Bubbles?

Clone High- Again, a show that uses crude humour, but I've kind of gotten used to it. It's a cartoon that's kind of like The Simpsons and Family Guy, etc. Well, not the premise, but the kind of humour it uses. Anyway, the premise is that a bunch of clones of famous people were made and they are now teenagers and going to a special high school. The highlight is definitely Butlertron, a robot parody of Mr. Belvedere, who calls everyone Wesley. Unique for a crude cartoon, Clone High uses pretty good music, most notably two Dashboard Confessional songs.

What Not To Wear- I love makeover shows, I'm not gonna lie. I also love laughing at people who have no idea what clothes look good. Stacey is strident and borderline annoying, but Clinton's calm presence is a nice foil.

M*A*S*H*- M*A*S*H* is tied with Welcome Back Kotter as the best retro sitcom ever. It's about the lives of army medics in the Korean War. Despite the subject matter, it's a pretty hilarious show.
