Who knew that Saskatoon could be such an exciting place? So I'm walking to the hairdresser's and I was on 23th and 4th and who did I see but, DUN DUN DUN...LORNE CALVERT. I know, you can hardly stand the excitement.
But then, I'm in HMV and looking at Stargate: Continuum and I see a hand reach out to tap Smallville, which is right above Stargate. I thought he just had some kind of Tourette's tic or whatever so I just kept trying to get Continuum off the shelf (it was surprisingly difficult) and he's like, "Hey, look!" And I looked up and he pointed to his park and I'm thinking, "what the fuck does this guy want me to say?" and then I noticed his parka said Smallville. He's like, "I work on that show. I'm on vacation right now." I thought he was shitting me but then he just kept looking at me for a reply so I'm like, "Oh, I love that show!" and then he start going on and on about new plot points and about Chloe and how Tom Welling might leave the show but they're going to continue it and how Erica Durance is really nice and cool and stuff. It was awesome and all but... I don't know why he started talk to me. It was kind of a risky move. What if I didn't know what Smallville was? I wasn't looking at Smallville. I had my hand on Stargate: Continuum so there couldn't be that much confusion. But yeah. Random and AWESOME. It was like the highlight of my day. But I don't think Smallville is going to last that much longer. Tom Welling is leaving and how can you have a show about the Superman mythos without Superman? It's in its eighth season I believe and the two longest running sci-fi shows (X-Files and Stargate SG-1) ran for nine and ten seasons, respectively. The writing's on the wall for this one.
So I think next I will randomly meet a crew person for Supernatural. I hope.
