Wikings

My day:

History: We talked about, among other things, ethnic background. I'm the only Ukrainian in the class, I believe (aside from Mr. Halyk) It's kind of scary how Mr. Halyk knows all about our lives, I'm serious. He knew Andra's background, and that her dad was taking care of someone's cattle. He knows all about the lives of past graduates and it's really really scary.

Chem: Mr. Halyk gave this big body image lecture, and about how people in our society worried way too much about looks. He kept saying repeatedly we just need to worry about our head and our hearts (with the gestures, too) I'm not too sure why, since we were talking about significant figures. I also think Mr. Halyk thinks I'm smarter than I actually am. On the first day of history he asked us why we learned history, and Florian took my answer (to not make the same mistakes people did in the past) and Halyk was like, "come on Tarnowetzki, you're a thinker." If he asked me what made up a good leader, I could have told him, courtesy of Sun Tzu, but why we take history? No clue. Then in Chem he was asking the non physics people why we didn't take it, and I was like, "I'm not a math person," and he was like, "well, neither was Einstein. We need more thinkers." That was actually the second time Mr. Halyk and I had that conversation. The first time he said since I was good at music I should have a natural aptitude for math. Yeah, whatever. I had to work my ass off to average 82. And then he asked who really really got the sig figs, and I didn't put up my hand and he's like, "Robin? What about you?" and I'm thinking, "If I didn't put up my hand, that means I don't get it completely," and I'm like, "um...kind of," and he's like, "just a little more practice." He has so much confidence in me. He thinks I'm smarter than I actually am. Or maybe I think I'm dumber than I actually am. Who knows.

English: We read an essay about some guy coming back to his hometown. Mrs. Hack is so cool and I'm going to miss her when she retires. I wonder if Popo will teach us grade 12 English? I get 90's without trying in his class but they're sooo boring. Good jokes though.

Noon: Heidi and I worked on my CS stuff. I actually sort of get it, more than expected.

IP: Finished my conspiracy newsletter. I'm quite proud of it.

CS: I finished like, three assignments. One I was so proud of because I figured it out by myself. But then I realized that we were supposed to make it so that the five times table appeared up to any number the user wanted, instead of making it appear any amount of times the user wanted. I was angry. Now Miranda, Kelsey, and I are sort of working on the last one, which is kind of hard. Everyone is else is way behind I think. I can't believe I'm one of the fastest people in that class. It's crazy.

Supernatural in 42 minutes. Yay!
Ciao.
