Things I Like

I was reading Maria's nexopia and she has random things she likes, so here's mine:

I really like fuzzy blankets or big heavy quilts, and my electric blanket. I remember when Maria was afraid to use her electric blanket because she thought she'd get radiation.

I like being home alone, hooking my mp3 player to speakers and baking cookies while singing along.

I like apples with legs (red delicious).

I like making smores in the microwave.

I like nice people. Where have they all gone?

I like watching TV late at night when everyone is sleeping. It feels all cozy.

I love old movies, especially movies with Humphrey Bogart. The Maltese Falcon is my all time favourite, with Casablanca as a close second. I love those fake gunshot noises, like "pyoo, pyoo".

I love thunderstorms and walking in the rain.

I like watching X-Files on the computer, with a blanket wrapped around me and a toasted bagel with cream cheese.

I like making snow forts. Jessica, Devon, Jonas, and I used to make snow forts, except Jonas and Devon's were always so much better and we would just play in theirs. Jonas, Lindsay, and I used to make snow forts right next to each other's and then make tunnels between them. I wish we could do that again.

In the spring I like playing in the river. Jessica and I were there once and we took off our boots and waded. Once Scottie fell in and I jumped in to save him. It was very cold, and he ended up swimming to shore anyway. I felt rather heroic though. The river is surrounded by a fence and there's a section of fence in front of the culvert, and water flows really strongly from the culvert into the rest of the river, and it's really fun to climb on the fence across the river where the current is stronger. It's all daredevilish. Since I'm more experienced, sometimes I climb across one handed, while carrying Scottie.

I love my msn conversations with Maria.

I love playing classical piano, maybe even more than playing the popular stuff. It's so awesome to play a tough piece by Bach or Mozart or whoever and just ace it.

I like noir detective stuff like Dashiell Hammet.

I like a good chick book and chick flick.

I like mall pranks.

I love reverse osmosis water, especially Aquafina or Dasani. If I had to pick any drink to drink for the rest of my life, I would pick reverse osmosis water. I was so happy when Flake switched to the reverse osmosis water system, and the fountains in the school were RO for ONE WHOLE DAY, and then they went back to crappy Flake water.

I like Delissio pizza.

I like Bagel Bites.

I like long bubble baths (like someone else we know, hey Maria?)

I like face masks and my clean and clear pore cleanser or whatever it is.

I like Chinese history and philosophy.

I love science fiction, especially Isaac Asimov, Ray Bradbury, and sometimes Dean Koontz and Michael Crichton.

Books I could read over and over: Life Expectancy, A Great and Terrible Beauty, Ella Enchanted, Sphere, The Chrysalids, Rebel Angels, The Eight, and Angels and Demons.

I love pop songs that I should't listen to but I do. Like Toxic, SexyBack, and Ain't No Other Man.

I love concerts.

I love jazz piano, especially Oscar Petersen.

I love kung fu movies, especially Jackie Chan.

I love ranting about nothing.
