Happy birthday to me! Yesterday I opened presents, because mom wasn't going to be here today. From my sister and brother I got the new Crisis, the new Alexisonfire cd, but the limited edition version, with a USB that contains live footage, stills, and exclusive b-sides. From my mother and father I got The Husband, the newest book by Dean Koontz, and...SUPERNATURAL SEASON ONE! I was soooooooo pumped that I watched a whole disc (four episodes) yesterday. In the special features there's a day in the life of Jensen and Jared, and they're doing an introduction that is soooo hilarious and goes like this:
Jared: I am Jared Padalecki...
Jensen: and I am Jensen Ackles.
Jared: We're going to show you why love doing what we do, and what exactly it is we do do.
(little pause)
Jensen: You said doo doo.
Jared: I did say doo doo.
Jensen: That's awesome.
Here was my day today:
French: we did some questions, and then studied for a test that I think we have tomorrow and I forgot my stuff. Lol. I don't think it was that hard though. I'll just wing it.
Bio: Um...Tyler really mumbles a lot. That's all I remember from that class.
Creative writing: we had to make a character and answer all these questions she got for us, like what is their name, what do they look like, etc. Then she called me up to talk about my proposal and stuff. She said my interview transcript was good, and that was good because I thought I might have done it completely wrong. Then we talked about my proposal, and I knew my actual product would be different from my proposal. It has been only a week, less than a week, and my genre has changed from horror to science fiction. So I told her that, and she told me that if I read a lot of science fiction, it would be easier to write, but also easier to unintentionally steal ideas. How well I know. I got this awesome idea and then realized it had already been done. In The Day of the Triffids. And there are elements of Signs, The Taking, and The War of the Worlds. I was trying to think of a way the aliens could be killed off, and I thought maybe water, because it's so common and it would be unexpected, but that had been done in Signs. And I couldn't make it so that they died of a disease, because that had been done in The War of the Worlds. And then I got an image in my head of what the alien could look like, and then I realized that I've seen it before. Possibly it's a Pokemon. So I'm trying very very hard to make it original. I finally decided that:
Cocooons containing aliens had been sent to earth (how? I don't know yet, but ideas would be appreciated) and gradually they start hatching and killing people, and the main character has to find a way to kill the aliens while staying alive. I couldn't figure out how the aliens would die, so I just decided there would be an ambiguous ending, like, "they all suddenly left, and we don't know why. I guess we'll never know" or whatever. But a really good exchange between characters came to me in CW. It goes like this:
"Maybe this will be like War of the Worlds and they all die from the bacteria."
"I doubt it. Does this look like fiction to you?"
"Is that a rhetorical question?"
Band: Menzie got all emotional on us, talking about 9/11. She also said there was more to her than a big piece of band music, and that we didn't know her. It sounded all angsty and emo, and truthfully, I don't know why she said it.
Math 30: We had a lot of fun, again. Mr. Farrell said, "I won an award!" and I was like, "you won the war?" then he was confusing Florian again. Then we all of a sudden started talking about how Jonas got hit by a car, and then how Florian plays accordian.
Spare: Um...I worked on the outline of my story for my independent project. That was about it.
Ciao!
