10. I can't remember what its called, but it was a short story in this book of short stories. A guy gets a chess playing machine and when the machine starts losing, it kills its owner.
9. Timeline-Michael Crichton. A group of archaeologists are sent back in time to retrieve their professor.
8. Cash-Johnny Cash. A Johnny Cash bio.
7. The first four Ender books.
6. Prey-Michael Crichton. A man is sent to a research facility to get rid of a group of escaped and hostile nanobots.
5. The Year of Secret Assignments-Jaclyn Moriarty. It's told entirely through notes, emails, and diaries and describes the year of three girls who, as an assignment, have to write to three boys from a school that has always been their school's rival.
4. Princess-Jean something or other. A nonfiction book about a spunky Saudi princess and her life as the "inferior" of the men in her country.
3. Sphere-Michael Crichton. A group of scientists and one psychologist go underwater to study what is believed to be an alien spacecraft. Strange things start happening and the research trip turns into a fight for survival.
2. A Great and Terrible Beauty-Libba Bray. It's about a sixteen year old girl who can enter the magical world of the "realms". A man from a mysterious brotherhood tells her to close her mind to the visions, but ignores him. Then she has to fight against an evil sorceress who wants the power of the realms to herself.
1. Life Expectancy-Dean Koontz. My favorite book of all time. The villains (evil clowns) are so unbelievable that they are funny, and the constant humor masks an internal struggle within Jimmy Tock about the predictions hanging over him.

Add these to your reading list:
A Heartbreaking Work of Staggering Genius by Dave Eggers
Fight Club by Chuck Palahniuk
Sex, Drugs and Cocoa Puffs by Chuck Klosterman
Killing Yourself to Live by Chuck Klosterman (which I bought in Saskatoon last summer. I probably read it while driving by your house).
Tim, I hope you weren't reading while you were driving. My brother does that sometimes and then I have to reach over and steer for him.
Naw, I'm a good driver. I only eat ice cream sandwiches and drink coffee (though not at the same time) while driving.
