Robin's List of Top Ten Best Bands/Singers

We are starting a new series...TOP TEN LISTS! Yay! So tune in regularly for Robin's top ten randomness. Today is Top Ten Best Bands!!
10. The Ramones. Any TRUE punk fan has to hear this band, the godfathers of punk. Amazing band. Pioneers. I love the Ramones. Best song: Without a doubt, I Wanna be Sedated.
9. Silverstein. Band from Burlington, Ontario. They successfully dodge genralization, as they blend hardcore, punk, and emo elements. Best song: Discovering the Waterfront.
8. Something Corporate. I love love love piano rock! Andrew McMahon, while not the most original songwriter, is still pretty talented. Best song: Drunk Girl.
7. Billy Talent. I love this band a lot! The videos are awesome, and the songs are thought provoking and avoid superficiality. Best song: Nothing to Lose.
6. Hellogoodbye. Hellogoodbye is sort of my guilty pleasure. A techno/pop band that has no depth to their lyrics at all but I love them anyway. Best song ever: Bonnie Taylor Shakedown.
5. Johnny Cash. What can I say about Johnny Cash? An amazingly talented man. The only country singer I actually like. I bought his bio and I was completely into it. Best song: Ring of Fire.
4. Ben Folds Five. A non conforming band consisting of piano, bass, and drums but no GASP guitar!! Their songs are peppered with jazz influenced piano solos that are insane. Best song: Song For The Dumped.
3. Dashboard Confessional. One of my favorite emo bands. Random anecdote: Today for no reason at all I thought of Maria's dream about seeing Chris Carrabba in tighty whiteys and I almost started laughing.
2. Atreyu. Jessica got me into this band. Dan Jacobs and Brandon Saller are hot hot hot and Alex's lyrics are really poetic (albeit SCARY). The guitars are stellar, drums AWESOME and Brandon's singing is angelic.
1. Alexisonfire. Awesome vocal blending of Wade's causticness (is that a word?) Dallas' sweetness, and George's tortured screams. Ahhhh....Best song? No Transitory.

You got good taste in Johnny Cash. "Ring of Fire" is his best song, indeed.

If you like punk/emoish stuff, I'd try the Clash, The Hives, Franz Ferdinand, Everclear, Despericidos (a Bright Eyes side project).
