This is my review of City and Colour:
...off By Heart: Nice intro. It's like a little appetizer into City and Colour (there's that food analogy again :S Dallas Green has an awesome vocal range.
Like Knives: I don't like this one. The guitar is pretty good, but the song is bland. Also the lyrics are slightly disgusting. I'm sure its all metaphorical, but still. Nice piano at the end however.
Hello, I'm in Delaware: Slightly upbeat (for Dallas Green). I like the guitar arrangement. Really good effort by Dallas Green. Very heartfelt.
Save Your Scissors: This is the favorite of a lot of people but is not mine. I like it, but its just not my favorite. Guitar arrangements are stellar as per usual. I can't really pin why I don't like this one that much.
In The Water I Am Beautiful: Nice guitar arrangement. I don't like the vocal arrangement though. Lyrics are slightly stupid, I'm sorry Dallas. I still love you.
Day Old Hate: More emphasis on the picking than on chords, and there's a nice piano that spices things up like...salad dressing. The piano is like salad dressing on a salad.
Sam Malone: This one is a little duetish type thing between the electric and acoustic guitars. The electric guitar is really nice in this one.
Comin' Home: This was my second favorite. It's all heartfelt and melancholy. Has some electric guitar but not much, and some weird synthesizer thing. He mentions Saskatoon! Haha! I think its funny the way he's swearing all the time and its such a soft song.
Casey's Song: A nice upbeat cheerful song. This is the only song in which someone else did the lyrics. Good Dallas vocals.
Sometimes (I Wish): I really really like this one. Lots of picking. Good chords. Good vocals. Good lyrics. Stellar.
Whoa, forgot I was writing this. Anyway... what else to say...I got back to school on Monday. I need to finish theory and practice piano. I didn't touch the piano ALL VACATION!
Its slightly sad.
I MUST finish theory tomorrow. If I don't you have permission to flog me.
But not really.
I must go now, nothing interesting to say. Byebye homies!
