Joy

Maria is home! I haven't talked to her for pretty much a week and a half.
I phoned her today and she had just woken up and she didn't sound that happy
to speak to me. It was quite anti-climactic, after I imagined her
excitement. I just found out they had to pay 150$ for their outdoor ed
thing. I can't remember how much we had to pay. 35 bucks? Something like
that.

I got 81 on theory! I was TOTALLY gobsmacked! I was thinking if I got over
65 I would be totally ECSTATIC, but to get over 80? I was blown away.
Apparently I knew way more than I thought I did. Unfortunately, I have
forgotten everything I learned. Or maybe the tick did suck blood from the
marker's brain.

My dog stinks. He got sprayed by a skunk at least two weeks ago and it
hasn't come out yet. Dallas, Scottie, and I went walking in the rain today,
me with my Bogart-esque trench coat. Dallas was all excited for some reason
and she kept hitting my leg. Seeing as she probably weighs as much as I do,
I stumbled a lot. Scottie frolicked through the grass and got all wet, so
on top of the skunk smell he smells like wet dog.

I saw an ad on TV for a box set of movies from the 40's that were banned or
something. It was like, '40's porn. It was weird.

I really like Mrs. Hack. I'm going to miss her. Today in English she was
marking our Mockingbird tests and she said that she thoroughly enjoyed mine
and I should consider English for a career. Speaking of, I'm thinking of
taking English in university. I know it's what Lindsay's doing, and I
REALLY didn't want to be like her, but a 98 in English can't lie. But I
looked at the stuff she has to do, and it looks so tedious.

I was thinking about characteristics I got from my parents. The stuff from
mom is so obvious: the music, the reading skills, the english skills, the
love of sci fi, we like the same books, and apparently I look like her. I
can't think of any characteristics I get from my dad. Except the fact that
I have his chin (thanks dad, for giving me the ugliest chin in existence)
but other than that, I can't think of anything. He hates any TV shows I
watch, we don't like the same kind of movies (chick flicks notwithstanding),
I didn't get any particular skills from him, he's not musical, he likes to
read but not the same books as me. He's more of a Tom Clancy and Jack
Higgins person, and barring the fact I went through my Jack Higgins phase a
couple years ago, I like Dean Koontz and Michael Crichton way better, and
mom likes them too. So I'm thinking I'm a love child.

I had a weird dream. We were doing an encore presentation of drama, and I
was late and wearing heels and riding a bike, and I didn't have my script so
I borrowed one from Miranda. And then everyone was adding stuff, and there
was a crazy dance sequence, and the sound messed up so Cindy was yelling
from the stage how to fix it, and Kyle (who was in the play for some reason,
and he was also playing a window. I don't know) was like, "Cindy, be quiet
until the play's over!" and I was like, "I don't want to be here for this
fiasco." For some reason, the whole crew was sitting on stage and I had no
idea how to prompt people because everything was different.

Anyway, I gotta bounce. Ciao.
