Weird words:
Impunity. It's not that's it weird, per se, (God knows it's nowhere NEAR the level of craziness of "Holy crow".) It's just that she keeps using this Biblical prose.
So Pedobear and Wanderer are going on a raid.
Here's what I think is going to happen. Lily's all depressed because Wes is dead and when she learns about what Wanderer is planning, Lily's gonna be like, "Take my body! I'm practically dead anyway! I can't function without my man! Take over my body, I want to die!" And that's how we have the two sequels. Also, why the HELL is Smeyer so goddamn PROLIFIC? I love when Dean Koontz is prolific, because I love his books. But she comes out with a new book like every six months. JUST STOP.
Can you tell I'm so sick of this book? I'm just skimming now. Copying and pasting just seems so hard. I can't bring myself to even make an effort at recapping. I'm sorry. I just want to be done.
So Wanderer's still jealous that the Seeker was treated so much better, and Pedobear says it's because of her because they didn't hate Yeerks as much anymore and she feels happy. a;ljskdfhlaskjdhasdf.
Now they're going to sleep and they're spooning. Seriously, WTF? He lifted up her head and put his arm around it, ostensibly creating a pillow, but that's actually really uncomfortable. And he has his arm draped over her waist. Doesn't he still dislike her? WHEN DID THIS HAPPEN? And where the FRAK is Ian? I liked him, once. He just kind of disappeared like Jeb did.
“We'll hit Phoenix, then. It's logical that they wouldn't notice this kind of raid. It doesn't make sense for humans to take your cold-storage tanks. What possible use could we have for them?” For fridges, duh. I don't know why you guys didn't think of this before.
It was a story I'd never told them before, for obvious reasons. It was one of my best. Lots of action. Jamie would have loved it. I sighed and began in a low voice. Action? Really? Because there's been a dearth of that in this book thus far.
You guys, it's less than a hundred pages left. YES!
So anyway, she's telling the story of how she had to do an emergency soul-removal on the planet of the ice sculpting bears. There are these things called claw beasts, which dig pits and bury themselves in the snow as traps. They got caught in a trap and the claw beast cut this bear in half. She doesn't know where to put the Yeerk so she sticks it in the claw beast. That's a good idea.
YES, CHAGRIN!
That was a great story.
Chapter 52- Separated
And we don't have ANY information about how they got the crates. There's a fade to black and they're randomly back at the caves. Okay then.
Now Wanderer and Melanie have a heartfelt conversation about how Melanie doesn't want to kill her and they tell each other "I love you".
We thought of my memories, the pretty ones. The ice castles and the night music and the
colored suns. Is there anything BUT pretty memories with her? It's all unicorns and fluffy bears and puppies and bunnies.
Now they're doing the procedure, and curiously, the Seeker isn't saying anything. Unless they sedated her and I just didn't notice.
“Got it.” I heard the click of the latch, and then the whir of the mechanism. “It's cold! ” No shit, Pedobear. It's a fucking cryotank.
So she does the surgery and everyone is all amazed at
Wanderer decides she needs more allies for some reason so she has to talk to Ian. She's also sad that Pedobear won't care when she's gone because he'll be so happy that Melanie is back.
