Tongue Snippage

So today I got my tongue snipped! My appointment was at 2 and we got into the city at one, so mom and I ate, and then went to the doctor's office at the university. Dr. Spafford was way scarier than I remembered. Fifteen minutes early, he called my name, and we followed two (hot!) medical students and they stood outside the door of the office ushering us in, like robotic sentinels. It was kind of creepy. Mom and I went inside, and Dr. Spafford put some weird cotton balls with crap on them to freeze my mouth so the needle wouldn't hurt. They were the grossest things I have ever tasted. You know how there's that weird aftertaste when you puke? They tasted like that. And vinegar. So I had to jam these under my tongue, but they kept slipping out, especially when I had to spit because I was salivating so much. That part wasn't fun. As I got more frozen, I started drooling because I had no control over my mouth anymore. Mom was laughing as I drooled all over my sweater and I was frantically trying to wipe it up before Dr. Spafford and the hot medical students came back and saw me looking like a retard. But this was made difficult because my spit suddenly took on a life of its own, defying the paper towel and resolutely sticking to my face. It was not fun. Then Dr. Spafford came back and stuck me with the needle. I was studiously avoiding looking at it, but mom said it was huge and had lots of stuff in it. So he injected me and then left again, and mom kept laughing at me because I was talking with a lisp because I was so frozen. Then Spafford came back. I couldn't avoid looking at the scissors he was going to use. He called the students to watch over his shoulder, and it was kind of weird. They were just looking at me, or rather, inside my mouth. I couldn't feel the scissors but I could hear the huge snipping sound they made. I was looking at mom the whole time because I couldn't look at those scissors. Mom was avoiding watching, apparently she was getting a little squeamish. Ten seconds of actual snipping time and I was done. It hurt a little afterward so I got drugged up with Tylenol and Ibuprofen and couldn't talk without mom laughing at me. We then went to see Lindsay, who also laughed at me, and then made me phone Ian, who didn't laugh at me but sounded a little weirded out.
Now the freezing's coming out and I have to practice blowing bubblegum bubbles and touching my nose with my tongue and all that good stuff. It feels sooooooooo weird. I mean, my tongue feels like its just flopping around in my mouth, its not attached to anything! I'm afraid I'll start snoring now that it can just flop back and block my airway. It still hurts a little to eat, so I had a smoothie in Saskatoon and a milkshake when I got home. I tried to eat a burger but couldn't, it hurt too much. It's just soooo creepy feeling.
In other news, I got a Matisyahu cd for ten bucks at HMV.
That's about all.
Ciao.
