Okay, Lana Lang is going out with a pretty boy jock named, of all things, Whitney. What does that tell you? She also has a lot of problems apparently, like she's with Whitney because he makes her feel safe and she hasn't felt safe since the meteor shower and her aunt who adopted her is controling her life and blah blah blah. I'd rather watch Chloe investigate dangerous guys who can make things spontaneous combust than hear about Lana Lang's problems.
Lana is super nice and sweet and everything but that gets old fast. Chloe, with her hissies, sarcasm, and conspiracy theories would make life interesting for Clark.
Plus, in an episode in which there was another alien from Krypton trying to get back home, Chloe was like "wouldn't it be cool if he actually was an alien?" and Clark was like "you wouldn't be freaked out?" and she was like "considering the people who are humans, I think an extraterrestrial would be a step up!" so, if she ever found out Clark was an alien, she would still treat him the same, but when Clark asked Lana how she would treat whatshisface if he really was an alien she was like "I'd try to keep an open mind," and Clark was like "but you wouldn't ever be fully comfortable with him would you?" and she's like "no. Does that make me a bad person?"
See? See? He should totally be with Chloe!
And Lana is totally helpless in the face of danger. When that Bugman kidnapped her, she didn't even try to fight back. And when that old guy fell into the Kryptonite laced lake and turned young and went on a murder spree, she was just content to let others figure it out. But not Chloe! She single handedly found the connection between the old guy and the young guy. And she doesn't even flinch when Clark gives her far fetched theories, like the guy that is sucking body heat and a girl that craves body fat since her vegetables grown in Kyrptonite soil have sucked hers from her.
I love Smallville.
I will continue this later if I think of anything in Lana's favor (unlikely) because talking about this is giving me a craving for Smallville. Ciao homies!
